[Luthier Information]
Born in 1947 in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, he began building guitars in his teens. In 1964, at the age of 17, he entered the workshop of Tsunesaburo Kurosawa as an apprentice. After gaining experience, he established his own workshop in Tokorozawa in 1969. Since then, drawing on the results of his early and devoted study of the guitars of Hermann Hauser I, he has consistently produced instruments with outstanding acoustic balance.

He was also among the first Japanese makers to venture into the construction of electric nylon-string guitars. Owing to his exceptional craftsmanship, he has received numerous requests from the steel-string acoustic guitar field as well, and although produced in small numbers, these models are also of high quality. Nevertheless, it is without question his Hauser-style models that most clearly express his aesthetics and identity as a maker. The beauty of the workmanship, the lustrous tone, and the superb acoustic balance are maintained at a consistently high level in every instrument, fully living up to the Hauser name. The tonewoods selected are likewise of an excellent grade for this price range. In terms of overall value for money, this brand can be regarded as one of the finest among Japanese makers.

[Instrument Information]
The Hauser model, which has long been a standard offering by Shunpei Nishino, has undergone a price revision and is now designated as Model No. 40, succeeding the former No. 35.
We are pleased to announce the arrival of a brand-new 2026 model featuring a 640mm scale length, with a spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides.

Created by a veteran luthier with nearly 60 years of experience, this instrument once again demonstrates the remarkable potential of the brand in maintaining consistently high quality. A deep respect for the sound and structural principles of the Hauser tradition is evident throughout, while the overall appearance also conveys a distinct and convincing sense of originality.

Its well-judged acoustic balance and excellent playability allow it to comfortably accommodate players from entry to middle levels—another hallmark of this brand. The tone is slightly firm and dense, yet clear and refined, with a fresh, vibrant character. Note definition is even and precise, response is quick, chordal balance is excellent, and pitch accuracy is beyond reproach.

The tonewoods selected are of notably high quality, and when considered as a whole, this instrument truly stands out as an outstanding value for money.
