[Profile]
Masaji Nobe was born in 1935. Nobe Guitar Workshop was started by his father, a Tokyo-based cabinetmaker, who repaired guitars. He became independent in 1965 and started his own workshop. As a family that is descended from Edo-style craftsmen, Nobe Guitar workshop is characterized by its selection of high-quality wood, high craftsmanship, sense of design, and tasteful finish of the exterior.
The tone of the guitar is just as rich as its appearance, and while it is based on the Spanish guitar, it is distinctly different from the more glamorous guitars, and has an unmistakable character with the dignity of smoked silver.
