Born in Madrid, Spain in 1949. He first made his living as a furniture maker, but in his mid-twenties he turned to guitar making. His collaboration with Jose Miguel Moreno, a Spanish virtuoso of ancient music performance, has been extremely important in his career. This collaboration deepened his knowledge of ancient instruments such as the vihuela, lute, theorbo, and baroque guitar, and he developed his work in a way that traces the Spanish guitar tradition through Torres to the present day. While his devotion to Torres is evident, his guitars, which are not exact replicas but rather the result of his own research, are favored by guitarists who love the traditional sound of the guitar.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a new Torres model (2013) made by Angel Benito Aguado. This model is decorated with a diamond rosette, which is known as one of the most luxurious designs among the original Torres, and was produced in accordance with the original, from the internal structure to the body design. In addition to the rosette, the herringbone pattern of the purfling and the bridge with pearl oyster inlays are also finished to please Torres fans.
Acoustically, the sound image is mellow and full, with a rawness that makes the wood tremble directly. The sound is not the radiating sound of modern guitars (after Manuel Ramirez), but rather the natural resonance of the body. But it also has a lucid side, giving the impression of Benito's modernity. And this creates an attractive taste that blends the old and the modern equally well when the music is played.
There are a few dents and scratches around the bridge and near the bottom, but other than that, there are only minor scratches. There are no cracks or other major repairs.
