[Profile]
Paulino Bernabe I (1932-2007) is a maker in Madrid, Spain. It is well known that he himself played well and learned to play the guitar from Tarrega's disciple Daniel Fortea. As a guitar maker, with the deep trust of José Ramirez III, he has long been the chief craftsman at his workshop, supporting the golden age of this giant brand. After that, he became independent in 1969 and continued to make unique guitars by his own method while inheriting the traditional method, and won the gold medal at the International Craft Expo in Munich in 1974. And he made the ten-string guitar that Narciso Yepes loves. He died in 2007, but now his son has taken over the workshop and is highly regarded as one of the leading brands in Madrid, Spain.

[Description]
A model Imperial 2004 made by Paulino Bernabé I is in stock. It is in good condition and beautiful. Since around 2000, Bernabé has cataloged more than 4 different models (currently 5 models: Concerto, Especial, Torres, Imperial, and Royal), each of which is ranked according to the materials used. This model is the second highest model after the Royal and was made by Bernabé himself.
This model is the second highest rank after the Royal, and was made by Bernabé himself. It has a very unique response with the power that is typical of Bernabé and a high-density sound that is released immediately when it is played. Each note has a rather restrained timbre, but the variety of changes is unique, and the coexistence of opposing characteristics is also unique. The volume balance is also well balanced, with an acoustic design that allows the high notes to stand out for their brilliance, with an even sound from bass to treble, and a rich sound all the way to the high-fretted range. It can be said that this is a work of art that has been completed at a high level of power and refinement.
Other than a few scratches around the soundhole and on the side of the fingerboard, this is a very beautiful instrument. The wood where the bridge saddle is attached has been slightly shaved to adjust the string height.
The wood used is high quality wood that has been dried naturally over several decades. The back and sides are made of Central and South American rosewood, which is selected for its wild taste and Bernabe's preference, contributing to the magnificent appearance. Only the sides are double-layered with cypress wood on the inside.
