[Profile]
Born in Madrid, Spain in 1931. Arcangel Fernandez became friends with Marcelo Barbero I, who was then considered to be the successor to Santos Hernandez, in 1954 and frequently visited Barbero's workshops to learn how to make guitar. Two years later, after Barbello I died at the young age of 52, he took over the workshop, and later, Barbello I's son Marcelo Barbello Hijo joined as a staff member and continued to work together.
The idea of design, selection of materials, and above all, refusal to compromise on timbre has reached an outstanding level. He retired from guitar making in 2011 and is now an increasingly rare brand.

[Description]
This piece is a classic model made by Arcangel Fernandez in 1960, shortly after he established his own workshop. The tone is light, bright, and dry for a classical model of this brand, and is different from the strong, tenacious, and stoic tone of later models, with a Spanish sound. The responsiveness is almost flamenco, and therefore the playability of the right hand is good.
The sound board is thinner than his later guitars, and the bars are a little smaller than usual for his instruments (generally speaking, the size is normal). There are scratches from playing on the treble side of the sound hole and on the bass side of the fingerboard. There is a 10cm crack near the heel of the neck on the back, but it has been repaired and reinforced, so there is no problem as it is now. The back has probably been removed once before and has been repaired and adjusted.
