[Profile]
Joseph Steinman is a British brand. It was actually made by Paul Fischer (1941~), a maker in the same country. Originally, his mentor and collaborator, David Jose Rubio (1934~2000), produced this series as relatively inexpensive concert models for enthusiasts who could not afford Rubio's guitars due to their high price. The 'Joseph Steinman' on the label is not the name of the actual maker, but the name of Rubio's grandfather, who was a violin maker, as the brand name. When Fischer became independent in 1975, Rubio transferred the trademark registration of this brand to Fischer, and it has been shipped under his workshop brand ever since.
The number of guitars produced was small, and most of them were exported to Japan, where the demand for guitars from Rubio's workshop was high at the time. After a period of production stoppage, the brand was revived in 2005 under the same label. The 1970s version is based on the Jose Rubio guitar, and has characteristics reminiscent of Rubio in both atmosphere and sound quality. Even though they are relatively inexpensive workshop products, the quality is impeccable because they are made by a master craftsman representing England, and the brand is still popular among fans today as models with the acoustics of Rubio/Fischer.

[Description]
Joseph Steinman 1977 is now in stock. This guitar was made by Paul Fischer shortly after he became independent from the Rubio workshop, and has a 'P.F.' stamp inside the body and a label with his initials printed on it. The body shape and rosette design are reminiscent of the Rubio guitar, with a lovely deep appearance, though not as massive and powerful as the Rubio.
The sound is well-balanced from bass to treble, and somewhat different from the deep and profound sound of Spanish guitars, with a dignified sound. The sound is somewhat hard, but the resonance is woody, rustic, and very elegant.
It is a classic model, but a golpe board has been installed by a past owner. There is no major repair history. There are some minor dings and scratches throughout, but the condition is commensurate with its age.
