[Profile]
Born in Madrid, Spain in 1931. Arcangel Fernandez became friends with Marcelo Barbero I, who was then considered to be the successor to Santos Hernandez, in 1954 and frequently visited Barbero's workshops to learn how to make guitar. Two years later, after Barbello I died at the young age of 52, he took over the workshop, and later, Barbello I's son Marcelo Barbello Hijo joined as a staff member and continued to work together.
The idea of design, selection of materials, and above all, refusal to compromise on timbre has reached an outstanding level. He retired from guitar making in 2011 and is now an increasingly rare brand.
[Description]
Alcangel Fernandez 2003 is now in stock. This is a supreme classic model made by one of Spain's most gifted craftsmen. The appearance is elegant and rigid, with no waste whatsoever. The solidity of the workmanship and the sound that only Arcangel could achieve are all extremely stoic in their perfection, making it one that expresses all the depths of music.
The tone of the Alcangel is restrained and calm, but its deep expressiveness is unparalleled. The sound is dense, with the vibrations transmitted from the strings to the wood being completely purified into sound, and the sound is extremely powerful. Every note has a clear identity, and the density of the sound from the moment it is played to the end is wonderful. The natural and dynamic amplitude from pianissimo to fortissimo is reminiscent of the expansion of sound from solo to tutti in an orchestra, and a sound different from the volume of a modern guitar is achieved.
There are some scratches and dings on the sound board. The neck has been touched up and the color has partially changed, but there are no problems when playing.
