[Luthier]
Ignacio Freta Born 1897 in Teruel, Spain. He moved to Barcelona in 1910 and started making violins, violas and cellos, and after a while he started making guitars.
Independent in 1927.
He made copies of Simplício and Torres in the 1940s.
In 1955 he was very impressed by the performance of Segovia, which inspired him to devote himself to guitar making with his sons Francisco (born 1925) and Gabriel (born 1929).
Their guitars are made in a unique way and have a solid, well-defined, cored and beautiful sound.
When it was used by John Williams in the 1960s and became known around the world, it was flooded with orders from many guitarists.
Ignacio died in 1977 and was made by his brother, but his brother Francisco also died. After that, it was made by Gabriel and his son Gabriel Jr. for a long time, but Gabriel also died in 2013, and now Gabriel Jr. is succeeding as the third generation.

[Instrument information]
There are small scratches on the entire top plate and a history of repairing buried wood with skipped strings on the 1st string side under the bridge. There is some unevenness in the paint on the part where the chest hits when playing the horizontal back plate, but there is no problem at present. Other than that, there is no history of repairing cracks, and the overall condition is maintained as an instrument that has passed 40 years. The painting is shellac.
Tuning Machine is equipped with the original Fustello product.
