[Profile]
Born in 1986 in La Coruña, a beautiful port city in Galicia, northwest Spain. He studied architecture, but was bored by the constant work of drafting at his desk, and gradually became more and more interested in the work that comes from being in direct contact with wood. His deep interest in music and instrument construction became unquenchable, and in 2009 he took a summer course in guitar making with Jean Pierre Sardin in Barcelona, and decided to pursue instrument making as his profession. In the summers of 2010-2012, he attended a course with master craftsman José Luis Romanillos in Sigüença, where he learned to make vihuelas and traditional Spanish guitars. It was a decisive influence for him.
In 2013, he moved to Amberes, Belgium, where he completed a course in instrument restoration at La Escuele Internacional de Luteria de Amberes (ILSA), and began teaching at the same school while developing his own production activities.
Currently, he has moved his workshop to Spain, where he continues to make instruments. The delicate construction that he inherited from his mentor, Romanillos, with its uncompromising attention to detail, stylish design, and appealing tone based on traditional Spanish construction methods, makes him unique among young Spanish craftsmen, and his reputation has been growing worldwide in recent years.

[Description]
This new work was exhibited at the José Luis Romanillos Memorium of the International Festival of Master Craftsmen in Badalona, Spain, this June 2023, and is a special tribute to the master craftsman who was Pablo Sanchez Otero's greatest mentor.
Each of his guitars has a unique name (again, in the style of his mentor), with 'Acineira' meaning 'holm oak'. He received the material directly from the oak tree that grew in the garden of his mentor's residence, and used it in the design of this piece as an imprint of his memory of it.
He had already produced a wonderful work with the Torres model, and this guitar is his best work, using the same template (SE114 made in 1888) and structure, but with the inspiration he got from the Romanillos guitars, and his own creativity.
The sound board is made of European spruce with a bear-crow pattern, the sides are made of beautiful coral red pearwood with a three-dimensional luster, and the back is a four-piece design. The oak, a memento of his mentor, is placed modestly but with presence in the center of the rosette. The same herringbone is also used in the center of the purfling and back for a stylish accent.
The sound has a high rigidity and a clear, quick rise, but at the same time it has a very deep depth, an acoustic design reminiscent of the Old Spanish. It is a dense piece of Pablo Otero's soul with deep respect for the great maestro and high pride as a craftsman.
