[Profile]
Born in 1986 in La Coruña, a beautiful port city in Galicia, northwest Spain. He studied architecture, but was bored by the constant work of drafting at his desk, and gradually became more and more interested in the work that comes from being in direct contact with wood. His deep interest in music and instrument construction became unquenchable, and in 2009 he took a summer course in guitar making with Jean Pierre Sardin in Barcelona, and decided to pursue instrument making as his profession. In the summers of 2010-2012, he attended a course with master craftsman José Luis Romanillos in Sigüença, where he learned to make vihuelas and traditional Spanish guitars. It was a decisive influence for him.
In 2013, he moved to Amberes, Belgium, where he completed a course in instrument restoration at La Escuele Internacional de Luteria de Amberes (ILSA), and began teaching at the same school while developing his own production activities.
Currently, he has moved his workshop to Spain, where he continues to make instruments. The delicate construction that he inherited from his mentor, Romanillos, with its uncompromising attention to detail, stylish design, and appealing tone based on traditional Spanish construction methods, makes him unique among young Spanish craftsmen, and his reputation has been growing worldwide in recent years.

[Description]
We are pleased to announce the arrival of a new Torres model 'La Tomasa' 2022 made by Pablo Sanchez Otero. Based on Antonio de Torres' famous SE114 made in 1888, this is a wonderful Torres model incorporating Otero's unique sense of style.
This time, European spruce was selected for the sound board and Honduras rosewood for the back and sides, each of which is of extremely high quality. The overall color of the wood is a soft brown, reminiscent of fine chocolates, with inlays designed by the maker himself to match the grain and color of the wood. The head shape is also stylishly finished in his own design, and the appearance also reveals the high level of his crafting precision and design sense.
The sound has a strong core, yet each note is soft and has a unique, elegant atmosphere. The sound itself is lively, and its freshness and old-fashioned resonance coexist, achieving a deeply pleasing sound.
The string length of this model is 640 mm, and the string tension is moderate, making this model highly recommended for women. The overall finish is delicately finished with shellac. This is a change from the thicker, denser shellac of the past, and the result is a beautiful finish that allows the player to directly feel the texture of the wood.
This is an attractive Torres model that is a fusion of Spanish tradition and new sensibilities. This is the first time that we have received this model with these specifications, so please give it a try.
