[Profile]
Born in Valencia, Spain, in 1948, he began working as a craftsman at Esteve Guitars (Francisco Esteve), a workshop in his hometown of Valencia, at the age of 15. He became recognized as one of the best craftsmen in the workshop, and was eventually given a separate section within the workshop to develop his own line of models under his own label. His workshop consists of less than five craftsmen, including his son, and has earned a reputation for constantly shipping high-quality, fully Spanish-made guitars domestically and internationally. He offers a wide range of models, from student models to professional models for concert guitarists, 19th century models, multi-string models, and modern types such as lattice construction.

[Description]
We are pleased to announce the arrival of the Juan Hernandez model 'Torres' Limited Edition 2011. The Torres model is also lined up as the top-of-the-line model in his current catalog, but this model is based on the Torres model that was shipped exclusively to Europe in the early 2000s, and was made for Japan with a higher specification. The body shape is probably based on Francisco Tarrega's beloved 1869 FE17 Torres, and it is made with consideration for Torres-like appearance and acoustics, resulting in a fine work that shows the excellent workmanship of this brand.
The body is light (1.4 kg) with a thin board and delicate shellac finish, and although it does not have the gorgeous appearance of the FE17 original, the Torres-like rosette design and the red and black purfling give it a modest, vintage appearance. The guitar's gentle sound image is pleasing to the ear, and its rich volume makes it easy to play and stress-free, making it a guitar that can be recommended to anyone. The 640mm scale and small body make this model suitable for women with small hands. The rich sound goes well also with Latin American music, and it is likely to show its potential in jazz and bossa nova.
It has been played moderately, and there are some minor scratches commensurate with its age, but they do not detract from its appearance. There are no cracks or other repairs. This is a Torres model made by a skilled craftsman in Spain, and is a good quality piece.
