[Profile]
Eduardo Ferrer (1905-1988),born in Granada,Spain, entered the workshop of his uncle Benito Ferrer (1845-1925),a guitar maker,as an apprentice at the age of 10.When Benito died in 1925,he took over the workshop and kept it alive by continuing to ship guitars despite the difficult conditions during World War II.When we think of Ferrer today, what comes to mind is his achievements as a master. Many guitar makers, including Antonio Marin Montero, the Bellido brothers,Antonio Raya Pardo, and Bernd Martín,a German who moved to Granada and opened a workshop there, were trained by him.He played a major role in establishing and passing on the essence of the Granada School in Granada. In the 1960s, he was invited by Yamaha and spent three years in Japan as a technical instructor, where he helped lay the foundation for the brand's classical guitar series.
His work is orthodox, strongly influenced by his uncle Benito and Antonio de Torres, and is known as an instrument that evokes the good old Granada school, and is a much-loved item among core fans.
His son,José Ferrer, and grandson,Eduardo Duran Ferrer, are also makers and both have been taught by him.

[Description]
Eduardo Ferrer Flamenco model made in 1972 is now in stock. It is a blanca model with cedar sound board.
When we think of flamenco guitars using cedar, the works of Jose Ramirez III come to mind, but while Ramirez had a heavy sound,Ferrer's flamenco guitar has a dry, bright sound that is typical of southern Spain. The cedar's dense and intense sound is quite appealing. The volume, power, and responsiveness of this guitar are excellent, and it has the atmosphere typical of this brand.
There is a history of crack repair on both sides of the fingerboard, and there is evidence that the golpe board has been replaced and probably repainted as well. There are some scratches, dings, and string strikes commensurate with the age of the guitar.
