[Profile]
Manuel Reyes hijo (1968-) is a maker with a workshop in Cordoba, Spain, and is one of the current Spanish leaders in flamenco guitar. After years of working with his great father Manuel Reyes I (1934-2014),he is widely recognized as the true successor of this great brand. He directly inherited his father's work, which had its roots in Marcelo Barbero I's aesthetic and further refined it.
His work is influenced by his beloved father in its internal construction, external appearance, detailing, and especially its acoustics, resulting in instruments that are fully equipped with the brand's hallmarks of power, refinement, and gorgeous elegance.
[Description]
This is a Flamenco Blanca made by Manuel Reyes hijo in 2005.It was made 10 years after he started making guitars in the workshop with his father, and it is a fine example with a high total quality.
The sound response is precise and pleasant for a flamenco guitar, and the sound has just the right amount of sustain, making it an exquisite landing point.Unlike the rigid sound of,for example,Barbero I or its direct descendant,Arcangel Fernandez, the characteristic of the Reyes is its gentleness and unique elegance, which is often said to be even classical, and this work is one in which this is fully realized.
The condition of this guitar is good for a flamenco guitar that is about 20 years old, with only a few scratches. The entire piece is delicately finished with shellac.
