Jose Luis Postigo is a flamenco guitarist born in Seville, Spain in 1950. While building his career as a performer, he also has a deep knowledge of the history and culture of the Spanish guitar, and is known for his extensive collection of masterpieces from the 19th century to the present day. Those collections are exhibited at Casa de la Guitarra, which he established in Santa Cruz, Seville. This facility, which also serves as a flamenco concert hall, is now a cultural center for flamenco guitar in the area.
He has also opened a guitar store on the same street, Meson del Moro, in Santa Cruz, where he promotes his eponymous guitar brand, Jose L. Postigo GUITARRAS DE SRTESANIA. This is a lineup of high-quality entry- to middle-class guitars, not made by Postigo himself, but strictly supervised from a guitarist's point of view, and has gained popularity in Spain and abroad.

[Description]
This is a Jose Luis Postigo 1999 Flamenco Blanca (white) model. It is a combination of spruce sound board and sycamore plywood back and sieds, and was a popular model for beginners. It has a light, bright sound and is of sufficient quality for beginners.
The wooden pegs are geared, but were probably replaced from the original wooden pegs and are inserted at an angle to the head plate (to make the string angle from the nut shallower). The treatment of that attachment is a bit rough and the functionality of the gears is not as smooth as those made by Pegheds, but they can continue to be used with no problems. The golpe board has been replaced only on the bass side. The entire instrument is painted in orange. There are scratches commensurate with its age, but there is no history of cracks or other major repairs.
