[Profile]
Masaji Nobe was born in 1935. Nobe Guitar Workshop was started by his father, a Tokyo-based cabinetmaker, who repaired guitars.
Masaji Nobe became independent in 1965 and started his own workshop. As a family that is descended from Edo-style craftsmen, Nobe Guitar workshop is characterized by its selection of high-quality wood, high craftsmanship, sense of design, and tasteful finish of the exterior.
The tone of the guitar is just as rich as its appearance, and while it is based on the Spanish guitar, it is distinctly different from the more glamorous guitars, and has an unmistakable character with the dignity of smoked silver.

[Description]
We are pleased to announce the arrival of a Masaji Nobe 1963. This model was made before he set up his own workshop and was made at a time when he was seeking a purely Spanish vintage sound, which was different from Nobe's later guitars. The sound is rustic and bright, but the soft sound shows the budding of his later guitars.
There are some minor dents and scratch marks throughout, and the sound board has a history of repair on the side of the fingerboard and the rosette edge. The entire sound board has probably been repainted once. The saddle mounting area has been modified and is fine for use, but it is slightly noticeable because it is partially unpainted.
This is a fine example of early work by a Japanese master craftsman.
