Ikkoh Kawada

Tuning Machine:GOTOH
String height:1string 3.0mm/6string 4.0mm

Born in Kochi in 1948, he learned to play the guitar from local guitar maker Mitsuru Tamura in 1963, and after graduating from high school, he began to learn guitar making from him in earnest.
In addition to his original models, he also makes Hauser I models, Bouchet models, and a modern style with waffle construction. Each model is characterized by its quick response and rich sound, and the high level of craftsmanship is also an outstanding feature. His work is highly trusted by concert guitarists, and many professional guitarists own his guitars.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of the Ikkoh Kawada-produced Presti-75 made in 2020. Kawada's BM series guitars are faithful replicas of Robert Bouchet's guitars, and it was Presti who played the early Bouchet guitars and gave unforgettable performances on them. This piece is a tribute to these two geniuses. Based on Bouchet's originality, this model pursues a high level of playability and expressiveness on stage.
The high output of the treble notes is almost as strong as the bass notes, creating a natural and gorgeous sound. The overall sound is solid, with treble to bass notes sounding with the same breadth, and perhaps because of this, the thickness and power of the sound, especially in chords, is impressive. The sharpness of response is typical of Mr. Kawada, and the sound is comfortable with sufficient depth and rich in volume.
The raised fingerboard and 20 frets are modern in style, and the round fingerboard reduces the stress of playing. The sound board in particular has many scratches, scuffs, and dings, but there is no major repair history.
