kaoru Ono(1954～)is one of the finest luthiers in Japan who for over 30 years now is consistently producing guitars. At first he studied wood technology at the university,　and became interested in making guitars. Around 1980, he was apprenticed to Alberto Nejime Ohno. In 2001 he participated in a course of guitar making lecture by Jose Luis Romanillos at Siguenza, Spain. And also he met Arcangel Fernandez in Japan and was advised a great deal. So deeply impressed by traditional Spanish guitar style, he explored his own image of sound.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of Kaoru Ono's No.80 Hauser I model, 2013 No.254. Speaking of Ono's Hauser model, it is one of the most famous items in Japan that has become a standard item among the extremely high-quality replica series such as Torres, Bouchet, and Romanillos, especially as a model with a high affinity with the maker himself. The model is of course based on the famous 'Segovia Model' made in 1937 by Hauser I. Ono has created his own unique and magnificent Hauser model by paying the utmost respect to the essence of Hauser and exquisitely fusing it with his own acoustic philosophy.
The sound has matured after 10 years of playing, and it has a tight and massive feel.
The balance between the distribution of the fundamental and overtones is excellent, and can be said to be the supreme art unique to Ono.
Both single notes and chords resonate with a pleasing sense of perspective. This model is one of the extremes of the Hauser models in Japan. The sound board has been repaired by the maker himself by applying a coat of shellac varnish. The strings are moderately tensioned, and the string length is only a little short at 645mm, so you will not feel any stress.
