[Profile]
Born in 1958 in Lille, Belgium. Walter Verreydt is one of Belgium's leading makers and has gained international popularity, especially in Europe. He comes from a family that has produced many professional musicians, and he himself has always had a deep love for music. With excellent woodworking skills in construction, furniture making, and wood carving, he first got a job as a technical educator. In 1985, he built his first guitar, which he learned to make almost entirely on his own, using Bouchet and Fleta guitars as references, but he also made friends with Jose Luis Romanillos and Daniel Friederich, as well as Rolf Eichinger, a German maker living in Granada. He also made the acquaintance of Rolf Eichinger, a German craftsman living in Granada, where he learned more about traditional Spanish construction methods.
His guitars combine a respect for tradition with a flexible attitude toward modernity, and are highly regarded for their clear, crisp acoustics, variety of tones, dynamics of volume, and quick response to changes in expression that meet the needs of the modern concert guitarist. As a specialist in woodworking, he also has an extremely strict eye on the selection of materials, and his choices are primarily based on how well they sound, rather than their appearance. He currently makes them in his workshop in Kessel, Antwerp.

[Description]
Walter Verreydt 2018 is now in stock, featuring the so-called Lattice Bracing construction, in which the bars are arranged in a lattice pattern, and is a popular and highly regarded item in his current lineup, along with the traditional fan-shaped arrangement. When one thinks of Lattice, the first thing that comes to mind are the characteristics of Australian guitars such as Greg Smallman's: loudness, agility, responsiveness, and homogeneity of sound. Verreydt believes that in exchange for these advantages, the traditional guitar lacks 'color'. He decided to use Lattice in his own unique way to create a guitar that is an instrument of expression with the functionality of a concert guitar, and he has created a magnificent Lattice guitar without sacrificing the total quality of the instrument.
The responsiveness is comfortable as if it were close to the player, and the dynamism from weak to strong notes is perfect. This is a characteristic of modern guitars, but Verreydt has succeeded in adding an elegant expression and creating a modest yet beautiful sound. The guitar is also easy to play, which is his passion.
He is also particular about the selection of wood and the finish of the exterior, and the overall appearance of the guitar is modest, yet very elegant and beautiful. Most guitars of the Australian school weigh over 2 kg due to the thickness of the back and sides, but Verreydt's guitar is a little lighter at 1.50 kg.
There are a few scratches on the treble side of the soundhole and the side of the fingerboard, and the bridge has a string skip repair on the first string side, but otherwise the guitar is in very clean condition. This is one of the ultimate answers to modern guitars by the Belgian master.
