[Profile]
Marco Bortolozzo, a maker with a workshop in Milan, Italy, was born in Villanova di Fossalta, a town in northeastern Italy, in the early 1980s. After spending his youth in this town with its vineyards, where he enjoyed crafting with various tools and playing music from an early age, he majored in industrial design at university. One day, he visited Dario Pontiggia, a guitar maker he stumbled upon in the yellow pages, who told him about Antonio de Torres, and that is how he decided to become a maker.
With the philosophy that the best instruments come directly from the hands of the craftsman, he insists on traditional methods and jigs, and he mills his own lumber from the beginning.
While maintaining respect for his predecessors, he flexibly incorporates new elements into his guitars, resulting in a beautiful and elegant finish where newness and nostalgia naturally coexist. The workmanship is one of the most exquisite in Italy, and although not showy, the design always evokes a sense of moderate beauty, and the finish is superb. The acoustic is also very precise. He is a truly exceptional talent. This is a particularly remarkable young Italian talent.

[Description]
This is the first arrival of a new Torres model made by Marco Bortolozzo in 2022, based on the FE09 1859 Torres owned by Miguel Llobet, with modest but distinctive details and a precise realization of Torres-like acoustics. The red spruce on the sound board and bird's eye maple on the back and sides are both selected from materials appropriate for Torres, which contributes to the high quality of the tonewoods as well as their appearance. The soundhole is fitted with a wooden Tornavoz. Each board is thinly formed (weighing 1.29 kg), but the sound is surprisingly dense. The unique resonance of the maple, combined with the depth of the Tornavoz's functionality, is very pleasant, and the chords are thick as well. All of this creates a classical elegance, and it is worth mentioning that it is truly a Torres-like sound. The rosettes and purfling are Marco's original design. Again, the modest yet delicate workmanship is a subtle accent to the exterior. The label is a stylish design with oak leaves. When he moved to Milan to set up his workshop, oak sprouts naturally grew in his garden. He felt the subtlety of a new start and decided to use the oak leaf as the brand label. This is a masterpiece of the Torres model from Milan, Italy. Please give it a try.
