[Profile]
Born in Canada, he currently builds guitars in Granada, Spain. He is a very research-oriented craftsman who is faithful to traditional methods. He came to Spain in 1989, and after studying with José Ángel Chacón in Málaga, he settled in Granada, where he established a workshop under the advice of Antonio Marin and Rolf Eichinger. In 2006, he published 'EL ARTE DELA GUITARRA,' a book of photographs of his production process, and in 2007, he exhibited a restored 1892 (SE153) model at the Antonio de Torres exhibition in Córdoba, which was highly acclaimed.
[Description]
This guitar is an ambitious work, in which he took on the challenge of borrowing an instrument from Carlos Trepat, the owner of Torres, after receiving high acclaim for his model of Antonio de Lorca, made in 1847.
The contrast between the beautiful flame maple on the back and sides and the luxurious rosette is beautiful, and the appearance of the instrument is full of the charm of Torres.
The tone is elegant and calm, and the slim body has a very deep sound. There are some minor scratches on the sound board and the back of the neck, but the appearance is not bad. The neck is slightly forward warped, but the string height has been adjusted for easy playability. This is an attractive instrument with volume and brightness, typical of the Torres model.
