[Profile]
Manuel Lopez Bellido, born in Granada, Spain, is a celebrated luthier who began his career at a young age. After gaining skills in woodworking at a furniture workshop, he was drawn to instrument-making, studying under the influential Eduardo Ferrer. Together with his close friend Antonio Marin, Manuel co-founded the “Montero y Bellido” brand in the early 1960s, gaining recognition for his craftsmanship, particularly in the flamenco genre. His guitars combine traditional Granada craftsmanship with modern structural innovations, offering a distinctive tonal profile that has earned him a loyal following, including famous musicians like Paco de Lucía and R.S. de la Maza.

Today, the Lopez Bellido name remains one of the most respected in the guitar world, with Manuel’s sons, Jesus and Mauricio, continuing the legacy through their independent brands.

[Description]
This is a 1974 Manuel Lopez Bellido 'Model No.2' classical guitar, used but in very good condition considering its age. The guitar has had some past repairs where the sides and back were re-glued at the joints with the top (lining), but these repairs are stable and no longer pose any issues. There are light playing marks, scratches, and some small dings on the body, consistent with the age of the instrument, but overall it remains in good shape. On the back, there are small patched areas where the rosewood's grain knots have been filled, likely a part of the original construction. There are no records of crack repairs. The neck and frets are in excellent condition, and the playability remains very high.
