[Luthier Information]
Born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1976, this maker was influenced from an early age by his father, the luthier Sumio Kurosawa. After studying guitar making at the Tokyo Metropolitan Kogei High School, he became fully engaged in the craft upon graduation. In 1997, he traveled to Spain, where he apprenticed in the workshop of Tesaños Pérez and also studied finishing techniques at the workshop of Antonio Marín before returning to Japan.

Drawing inspiration from masters such as Manuel Ramírez and Vicente Camacho, he continues to build guitars with a solid and reliable approach that reflects his own interpretation of traditional Spanish nuances. In recent years, he has released collaborative models with flamenco guitarist Jin Oki, and he has also expanded his work to include classical guitars featuring lattice bracing. He is regarded as a versatile and promising young luthier with a broad and evolving range of instruments.

[Instrument Information]
This is a flamenco blanca model built in 2008. It features the traditional flamenco wood combination of a spruce top with cypress back and sides, and is set to a 650 mm scale length.

The tone offers an excellent balance between a satisfying sense of weight and the dry, characteristic sound of a flamenco guitar. While the overall volume is moderate, the balance from treble to bass is refined and even. The response is crisp and immediate, providing the quick attack and agility required for flamenco playing. A pleasant, flamenco-style buzz is present, and techniques such as rasgueado and golpe come through clearly and comfortably.

The guitar is finished in shellac (French polish) and fitted with highly reliable Gotoh tuning machines. The neck shows a very slight forward relief, close to straight, resulting in good playability. The string height is adjusted for ease of playing, and the string tension is well balanced, making it comfortable even for extended playing sessions.

More than 15 years have passed since its construction, and there are some light playing marks, mainly on the top, but they are all superficial. There is no history of repairs such as cracks. Considering its age, the instrument remains in overall very good condition. With its controlled volume, well-balanced resonance, and authentically flamenco character, this is a highly practical and musically satisfying guitar. A hard case is included.
