[Profile]
Antonio Raja Pardo was born in 1950 in Huelva, Andalusia, Spain. At the age of 14, he moved to Granada, where he apprenticed briefly to Eduardo Ferrer (whose uncle, Benito Ferrer, the founder of the Granada School, gave guitars to Andrés Segovia when he was still unknown) and began his career in guitar making. He is almost self-taught, but the advice of Antonio Marin Montero was invaluable to him.
His guitars, which have matured over time, embody the current Granada school of guitars in terms of sound, appearance, and design, and are loved by many guitar fans for their gentle and powerful tone. Today, he and his son, Antonio Raja Ferrer, continue to build guitars under their own labels.

[Description]
Antonio Raja Pardo, made in 1990. This is an attractive piece with the rustic flavor of the wood and firm singing tone that is gentle and soft to the ear, typical of this maker.
It has been played well for 30 years, and there are some minor playing scratches and discoloration of the paint, but there is no major repair history and it is in good condition considering its age. The finish is the original shellac, which has a wonderful texture that has been enhanced by age. The strings are moderately tensioned and feel easy to play. This is a beloved piece by a skilled craftsman who has now become a leading brand in Granada, Spain.
