[Profile]
Born in Nagoya in 1939, he entered his father Kano Mokumei's workshop in 1958 at the age of 19 and learned to make guitars. 1966, he became independent and started making instruments under his own brand, and since then he has been shipping high-quality instruments with great enthusiasm, making him one of the oldest veteran guitar makers in Japan. In addition to guitars, he also makes mandolins, lutes, and other ancient instruments, and is highly regarded in each genre. His classical guitars are characterized by a modest, even stoic tone, rich sound, and elegance, while aiming for a Spanish orthodox sound. The lineup includes a variety of short-scale models, especially in the 610-640 mm range, and is considered a pioneer in this category of high-end models in Japan.

[Description]
Kodama Kanoh No. 40 640mm scale classical guitar, the latest work by the over 80 year old maker, is of consistent quality and fully finished in all respects. This model uses spruce for the sound board and Indian rosewood for the back and sides, and although it is the least expensive model of the brand, it has high potential for both beginners and advanced players.
Despite its short scale of 640mm, it has a rich sound with an impressive hard, clear resonance. Since the sound is rigid, playing it with a slightly stronger touch gives it power and rich expression. It can be said that this brand is characterized by its stoic impression while fully possessing Spanish-like sound characteristics.
