[Profile]
Born in 1980 in Fuchu City, Tokyo, he joined Yukinobu Chachi's guitar-making class at the age of 16, and later joined Kono Guitar Mfg. He visited the workshops of master craftsmen such as Jose Luis Romanillos, Manuel Caceres, Antonio Marin Montero, and Ignacio Fleta. Upon his return to Japan, he began production under his own label, receiving advice and guidance from Kojiro Nejime and Kaoru Ono. His earnest attempts to approach the essence of the Spanish guitar have been consistent, and he currently produces around five guitars per year.
The guitars are highly regarded by users who are particular about their classic, carefully crafted, and beautifully finished products. In 2020, the interview with Earl 'Chinna' Smith, the master of reggae music, who has been using one of Kono's guitars for many years, was widely reported in a Japanese guitar magazine, and Kono's guitar has been gaining a new fan base. In 2020, an interview with him was published in Orfeo Magazine No. 15, published by Camino Verde of France, and his reputation both in Japan and abroad is growing even more.

[Description]
We are pleased to announce the arrival of our newest item, a Romanillos Model No. 90, Spruce, Central and South American Rosewood 2022, No. 21, made by Yuichi Shimizu. This is a model that has become a standard item for this brand, and it is a magnificent piece that can be said to be at the top level in Japan in terms of extremely precise reproduction of workmanship and acoustics, as well as high artistic quality.
The design, which is becoming more and more perfect as it is made, is full of precision and aesthetics, and the inlaying of the rosette and head is particularly noteworthy. The entire body of this piece is finished with a slightly candy-colored shellac, which gives it a calm, Vintage-style appearance.
The sound is firmly in keeping with the original sound that passed through Hauser/Torres. All single notes have suppressed overtones, and the separation of each note in chords is perfect.
The tone is somewhat hard, but the string tension is moderate and easy to play.
This is a valuable new work and one of his best. Please give it a try.
