kaoru Ono(1953～)is one of the finest luthiers in Japan who for over 30 years now is consistently producing guitars. At first he studied wood technology at the university,　and became interested in making guitars. Around 1980, he was apprenticed to Alberto Nejime Ohno. In 2001 he participated in a course of guitar making lecture by Jose Luis Romanillos at Siguenza, Spain. And also he met Arcangel Fernandez in Japan and was advised a great deal. So deeply impressed by traditional Spanish guitar style, he explored his own image of sound.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of the original model made by Kaoru Ono, No. 335 of 2022.
This extremely high-density model is the result of years of research into the structures and acoustic systems of Torres, Hauser, and Romanillos.
The natural balance of the whole sound, from the delicate and tight high notes to the massive low notes, is so brilliant and expressive that it could be described as keyboard instrument-like. The sound is stress-free, and the overall sound has an appealing woody feel. From the weakest note of PP to the very powerful FF, the dynamics that emerge in response to touch and the expression of brightness and darkness are also wonderful. The elegant sound has a high affinity with classical music, and is truly Ono's unique sound.
The elegant appearance is also a major attraction, due to the beautiful texture of the shellac. The strings are moderately tensioned, and the model has high playability throughout.
