[Profile]
Enrique Sanfeliu was born in 1882 in Valencia, Spain. He is said to have had an extraordinary interest in woodworking and excellent skills since he was a child, and was as good as making a guitar for his friends. He was also good at playing. He was impressed by the performance of Francisco Tárrega and studied under Tárrega's disciple Manuel Roscos. However, his passion for guitar making became stronger than his playing, and he moved to Barcelona to realize his dream and started working as an apprentice in a workshop run by Juan Estruch. At the same time, he met the historic master Enrique Garcia (1868-1922) and became a frequent visitor to the workshop. Feeling the certainty of Sanfeliu's pure research mind and technique, Garcia generously advised Sanfeliu on making guitars. For this reason, Sanfeliu has always respected Garcia throughout his life and inherited his guitar-making philosophy and aesthetics to create excellent guitars. Sanfeliu's work is simple and friendly, and at the same time has a profound sound. Agustín Barrios and Pepe Romero also owned Sanfeliu's guitars.
