[Profile]
Jose Romero Garrido was born in Baeza, Andalusia, Spain in 1954. His family moved to Madrid when he was a child, and in 1968, he entered the Ramirez workshop and began his career as a craftsman. After a period of steady training and military service, he re-entered the Ramirez workshop to become a Master Craftsman, and was appointed as a Master Craftsman at the age of 21, after receiving high praise from Ramirez III. After working at the Ramirez workshop for 8 years, he opened his own workshop in Madrid in 1983.
He produces guitars in both classical and flamenco styles, and while they have the rich and massive acoustic characteristics of the Ramirez Madrid school, the clear and sharp sound image gives them a modern feel, and they are especially well received for their flamenco models.
[Description]
We are pleased to announce the arrival of a flamenco model Blanca (white) made by Jose Romero, No.239, 1992. The overall construction is solid, as he was a master craftsman at the Ramirez workshop. This guitar has a pleasant, slightly hard and clear sound with a lustrous and dense single note that is typical of the Madrid school.
The guitar has some scratches and dings as expected for a flamenco guitar of its age, but there are no cracks or other major repairs. The fingerboard is slightly worn, but there are no playing problems. The original paint job gives the guitar an intense Madrid-style appearance.
