Franz Butcher is a German maker who began his production in 1983 at his workshop in the Alpujara region of Spain, which is dotted with tranquil villages near the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Although he is often categorized as a member of the Granada School, his style is neither Spanish nor German, yet it occupies a singular position with a traditional orientation. It has long been known as the guitar used by flamenco guitarists such as Emilio Maja and Carlos Maldonado, and Pavel Steidl brought it as his favorite instrument when he visited Japan. It is now known as a famous instrument in the classical world as well.
[Description]
There are some scratches, but the original finish is in good condition. It is not a very loud instrument, but the sound has good extension and balance, and the tone is a little reminiscent of 19th century guitars.
